mine is finished

Hi peoples, i am Pepparmynta!
I am in my forties and I live in Stockholm, Sweden where I work as a mail sorter. I do not work full time (mail sorting is too boring!). Anyways, my moleskine is finished now and I will send it as soon as possible!
Happy Halloween everybody!

Hi, I’m Linda Jeffers from Arlington VA, USA. I work full time as a computer programmer. I started out as an art major in college many years ago, but got sidetracked. So after not doing any art for about 18 years, I started up again in 2007. I’m going back to college at night to take an art class each semester and I just finished my mid-term assignments.

I hope to have my sign-in page and portrait done and delivered to Shante by Friday. I lucked out, she’s a good friend and lives near me so I can hand deliver it to her on a very special day in the US, Halloween. I am so excited about this and already love what everyone has started creating. I’m thinking of doing a Halloween / Fall theme for my sign-in… where everyone can draw themselves or someone in a costume, or a piece of candy, or a leaf falling, or anything they feel like with their sign in name.

Kissy Face

This is the second drawing of myself that I attempted in my little Moly.
It turned out far better than my first attempt.
This one actually resembles me.
My first attempt looks more like The Donger from 16 Candles.
EEK!
Have a great weekend, y'all!
This is on the way to you Suzette.

Kat's introduction

Hey everyone! I am Katina and I live in Ontario, Canada. I have a background in arts through education: BA in Fine Arts (major in Graphic Design and two minors - creative writing and visual art).

Right now I currently work as a full-time graphic designer and I love my job! I look forward to going to it almost everyday. Not everyone can say that they love their job! I also have an etsy shop, where I am selling my art and I am looking forward to getting enough pieces together to have another art show. Oh and also I do freelance graphic design work on the side.

I am also going to be adding a cd with a play list to portray my life up to the time of the portrait I will be producing... Kind of like a timeline. & music is a huge part of my life, so I thought I would include it.

I am looking forward to seeing everyones pieces! Cheers!

Andrea's Intro

Hi all,

My name is Andrea Martinez, I am a compulsive doodler. Realistic drawing isn't really my strong point, so I've joined up in this exchange to try and challenge myself. I hope y'all won't hate my drawings of your lovely faces. I live in Reno, I am attending grad school to become a teacher, I love live music and road trips. If you want to know more about me or my work, check out my other blogs, art, photo & music related. I am looking forward to this!

Suzette's Intro

Hello, all. My name is Suzette Vida, and I live in Virginia Beach, VA. I work a couple of days a week at a small toy store and the rest of the week is spent at home with my 6 month old son, Max. I'm an English major and a self taught artist, and I'm very excited about being a part of a project with other artists that I've seen and admired on flickr. I'm a major procrastinator, so I'm going to try and stay on top of things as best I can.

Robert's Intro

This is Robert. I live in western Colorado, USA. I'm a married, father of two. I currently work as a telecommunications engineer. I'm attending college (again) with hopes of acquiring a degree in business/marketing (even though I don't have a clue what I'll do with it once I get it). Since I'm working about 50hrs per week now, I'm only taking two courses; Statistics and Spanish.

I've never had formal art training. Even though my Dad and one sister are VERY artistic, we didn't ever teach each other or collaborate on anything growing up. I think the last art class I had was in 7th grade.

Time is my major stumbling block. I usually have more on my mind than I have time to work on. Saddly, my art often takes a back seat to other things. My art process usually consists of drawing from around 10PM to 2AM (when everyone is asleep), then dragging around the rest of the next day.

I'll try to get some descent pictures up for the group. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's art work!

Intro - Jen

My name is Janice, I live in Melbourne Australia, Melbourne is down the bottom of Australia so it's not really 'outback' but I grew up in the outback so I can talks about Kangaroos and Koalas enough to impress the tourists.

By day I work as a production manager making toys and charity promotions, it's a semi creative job, so it keeps me interested and I work with great people so it's fun!

I'm an obsessive crafter, I bind books, sew, cook, embroider, dabble as a printmaker and paint and draw of course.

I like to stash work at my blog & Flickr and I'm also organising the Melbourne Sketchcrawl.

Illustrators I admire are people like Tim Biskup, portrait artists like Jean Pederson and journallers like Roz stendahl.

I hope to develop a series of work and dabble in artbook creation in the near future.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's work in the near future.

All About Amy

Hello all! Yay, we're finally beginning!

Okay, introduction, let's see.
I'm a loud-mouthed Australian cartoonist and animator living in Portland OR with my Midwestern husband. I used to work at Disney's Sydney studio before we were shut down in the 2D purge. I loved my job there, but luckily I was able to springboard straight from Disney to comics with two graphic novels at Tokyopop and I'm currently prepping some possible work with Boom Studios. I also work freelance at LAIKA studios here in Portland, a town I adore (microbrew capital of America, what's an Aussie girl not to love??)
In my spare time I share fanart with the squealing fangirl hordes on deviantart, play Rock Band with friends, knit socks and collect vintage ephemera(old women's magazines a particular weakness).
I also produce the webcomic Thorn 3 times a week and you can find links to all my art dumps at my blog.

Tim's Intro

Hey gang,

So, a little about myself, huh? I'm a part-time graphic designer/illustrator/web guy...I also teach skiing full-time in the winters, most recently managing the ski school at Hunter Mountain in the Catskills in southeast NY state.

I attended the School of Art & Design at Alfred University and really loved the drawing classes I did in my first 2 years there. I'm trying to recapture the enthusiasm I felt for art back then...to that end I'm trying to draw everything and have been pushing myself in the last year or so to be more prolific. I've joined a open figure drawing group that meets every Monday night at Steve Carpenter's Studio here in Rochester, NY. That's been a great experience and I'm really seeing my chops come back.

Feel free to check out my latest drawings at my Flickr page, I also have a extremely infrequently updated blog that you can check out.

Looking forward to this project...I'm gonna order my moly from Amazon right now!

Ready, Set, GO!

I just got confirmation from the last person that will be joining our group, so we are all set to go! I updated the rotation on the right. Please make sure you get the mailing address of the person you will be sending to. As Amy commented in the last post, I think we should aim for mailing our molys out by the end of October. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. Also, I'd encourage people to post intros so we can all get to know one another a little, and keep us updated on your progress as you get ready to send and/or receive another's moly.

peace
