Nice to meet You !

Hi friends from MolyXportrait2
My name is Claudio Ramires, I was born in southern Brasil (Rio Grande do Sul on the Pampas region) but I live in São Paulo, the largest, exciting and chaotic city in South America.
I worked many years as an illustrator, art director and graphic designer, currently divide my time between painting and planing  virtual interfaces for Internet, television and mobile devices in a big company ...
In painting I have been passionately devoted to Acrylics, "the most rebellious of paintings" :-)
I'm participating in other 3 Moleskine Exchanges groups (34, 54 and Portrait4).
I love this project, it has helped me to grow as an artist, to expand my world view and to make new friends in many places, I think we're there to have fun, but "to fun it's a serious subject" :-)
I'm waiting impatiently for a new moleskine order from Amazon to work here...
It will be a great pleasure to interact with so many talented people that I've seen here. Thank you all.
My Flickr and my Blog  . (sorry for my English :-P) The image here shows some self portraits fragments traveling around the world on board of little black books

Hello group!

Hi everyone!

My name is Dana Bower and I am very excited to be joining your MolyX group! I've been interested in MolyX for awhile now after seeing entries in books tagged and displayed throughout fickr but was never in a position to really dive into one myself.

I am a recent college graduate from Bowling Green State University. I received my Bachelor's of Science in Technology in August, my major was Visual Commication Technology. After graduating, I began doing graphic design work under my own company (which is still developing along nicely!) and I just turned 22 years old yesterday! I've been wanting to do traditional work now more than ever as I have gotten away from it a bit throughout college. I figured now is the time, and I hope to grow enough so that I can incorporate illustration into my company's business plan.

I look forward to learning more about everyone and learning what MolyX is really all about!

Shante's Moly - Finished, I think

So, I'm mailing this off tomorrow, but it still bugs me a bit. I feel like there needs to be a background color behind Shante's portrait but I'm scared to ruin it...oh well, it's off regardless. Hope you like it Shante.

The Gaze: my entree on Robert's portrait moly

The Gaze: My entree to Yelnoc's portrait moly

Here's the final scan of my page on Robert's moly.

I'll be spraying this with fixative and forwarding this soon.

Hope you like it Robert.

Yelnoc's Moly: My entree

Here's my first attempt at making an entree on Yelnoc's portrait moly...
My Entree in progress

My page in progress
I couldn't salvage the page. Tried white washing it but it wasn't really working so I cut the 2 panels and glued it back. Hope Robert forgives me.

I wanted to pick up from Robert's gaze and this is the solution I came up with...
WIP 2
Done as part of MolyX_international Exhancge and of MolyX_Portrait2

Here's Robert's self-p that I used as reference for this. Minus the bruises, that is..

Hope you like it Robert.

Shante's Moly - W.I.P.

Here's a look at my page for Shante's moly...it's a work in progress. Looking through Shante's images everything she was wearing had these elaborate patterns and I decided to run with that theme, finding a hat with some patterning (you might recognize it from my wee portrait on her sign-in page) for my self-portrait. I think I bit off a lot with the intricacy but it's a challenge, that's for sure! (I don't know exactly why I chose to frame them the way I did...random impulse)

Received Shante's Moly

I got Shante's book yesterday and did this little self-portrait on her sign-in page. I also started one other page so hopefully I can regain some momentum on this project. I apologize to everyone (especially those who have bowed out) as I'm one of the people holding this up.

Working on Robert's moly this week.

Yelnoc's Moly: My Entree in progress

I'm not happy with this because it doesn't look like me. Sigh. I'll tweak the hair and hope that works. If it doesn't then I'll start over by white washing it and using acrylic instead. I'll do my best Robert.

Will send this along soon. I still need to make Robert's portrait. I finished mine tonight but it needs tweaking. Will post new photo of it as soon as I'm done.

Thanks for the patience and understanding, Robert.
