Now recruiting (and status update)

I just posted a recruiting topic to the flickrgroup to see if we can get some energy back in our group. Prior to that I posted on one of the other threads where folks were looking to join a group and I'd like to welcome our newest member, Danica!

I added her in between myself and Suzette. So, Robert's moly is going to Suzette and Heidi's will go to Danica when it's ready (hopefully by the end of the week). After that I think I'll finally start my own book and get it rolling...hopefully to our next new member.

So, what's everyone else got cooking? Any other books out there? Please comment on this post and let everyone know what's going on. Thanks.

Robert's Moly finished and ready to fly!

Spent the last few nights working on Robert's moly (don't worry Heidi, I'll get back to yours soon!) and it's all finished and ready to go...but to who? (Tiffany, are you still in? I don't remember seeing anything from you on the blog.) If I don't hear from Tiffany I think I'll send this on to Suzette, I know she's been moly-less for a long time now.

I thought I'd try a different technique with this one and have always loved France Belleville's drawings. So, this is my Ode to France. I'm not really happy with Robert's portrait...I think I screwed up the proportions in the underlying drawing and was well into the crosshatching before I realized it. Mine came out a bit better but the sunglasses hide the toughest parts.

Fun fact: In the photos I worked from Robert is standing on the rim of the Grand Canyon and in mine I'm on a mountain opposite Breckenridge, CO.

Linda's Moly resurfaces!

Linda's moly finally turned up after spending about 3 and a half months lost in the wilderness of the USPS. I added the following entry inspired by the sketchbooks of James Jean, one of my favorite artists. He's got an amazing new book of sketches out, Process Recess 3:The Hallowed Seam and I just got my copy.

UPDATE (1/1/10): I added some more background noise to this entry and sent it back to Linda and it seems to have made it home safe and sound (feel free to bug her to get back in this group ;-)

I also started working on Heidi's moly (still need to add my self-portrait) and here's what it looks like so far:

Heidi's portraits

I got 2 books in the mail yesterday...both with gorgeous drawings by Heidi that I don't think we've seen before. The first is her self-portrait opening her book and the second is from Robert's. Beautiful, Heidi!

On the other hand I'm wondering what we should do with this exchange. We're now down to 7 participants from the original 15 and of those 7 I'm not really sure who's actively involved. If everyone who's still here could please check in and talk about what we'd like to do from here I'd appreciate it. Maybe we could reopen this group to some new blood over on the moly_x flickr page? Other suggestions welcome.

Mailing today Hiedi's sketchbook to Tim

I just emailed Tim to get an address again to see what is what since I recall he said hisaddress will be changing soon. I had fun working on this. I know we are suppose to do us and the person but I hate drawing myself and just did Hiedi. It was so hard to choose which one to do but I picked the one of her on the merry go round. Merry go rounds are cool.

I'm bowing out also....

Since my moly has been lost, I've decided to bow out also. Shante was going to send me back Heidi's moly but I've asked her to forward it to Tim instead. I have Rob's moly and I will send that to Tim this week.

I'll still check in from time to time. I am anxious to see what great pieces everyone creates. Take care!

Hiedi's Moly and

I will give Hiedi's Moly back to Linda and then I think I am bowing out of the group.

I received an email from Tim the other day asking about Linda's moly that I sent in August. It seems it is lost and never made it to Tim's house. :( I'm really sad to hear that.

Moly's not lost or ppl bowing out but not passing onthe moly's has sapped my strength and make me not want to particiapte.

Rob's Moly

I received Rob's moly from Heidi today. Currently, it's the only moly I have (I gave Shante Heidi's moly to work on first, then I will work it and mail it on). Heidi, I hope you have a great trip!

My entry to Linda's moly, off to Tim.

Here is my entry in Linda's moly, now it's off to Tim. It was fun to do both of us. Done in ink and crayons.

Updates

Good Morning Everyone:

I just put in the snail mail to Tim Linda's moly, which I will post the results in a minute. Darn computer programs at the moment.

I emailed in July and just today TRodgers about if she got my moly from Amrita. ?.?.?.?.?.?Amrita before she bowed out said she sent it after her contribution.

I was also set to go with Pepparmynta's moly that I got from Linda while she was on vacation but noticed no photos hardly in the moly or on her site to draw her. Hope to get some photos soon while I'm on a roll.

How is everyone else doing?.?. And who has what? Or did you send your own personal moly along?

Another person dropping out/ Who has what and how far are you?

Winnie Rose Reyes sent me a flickr mail saying that she is dropping out of Moly X potrait 2.
I still have Linda's moly for too long, my enthusiasm did not transpire to finishing. I will most definately make sure I finish this weekend and get it off to Tim. That will be 2 that I completed.

Out of curiosity, did everyone send out their own books? We have over 10 ppl but it seems like only 5 or 6 went out and are posted on this blog.

Also do you have anyone's book?

Though we are a slow group, I hope we pick up a little in communication and travelling books. Or are we just a dead group?
