next Moly on the way

Ramires's Moly is ready to be sent to Suzette. Suzette is it alright with you? or should I wait 'till you finish Omar's Moly? I hope it arrived sound and safe. D
Btw I just brought home 2 new Molys, one is the large japanese moleskine for the next exchange and the second is the one for watercolors. Do you have any experiences with them? I am particularly curious about the watercolor notebook. I have this idea, that i will train my skills with watercolors during my workcamp in Barcelona.

Julia Kay's Portrait Party

So, while we’re all waiting on the next masterpiece in one of our wandering molies, I thought I would share a cool new flickr group I stumbled upon called Julia Kay’s Portrait Party. I wrote a fairly substantial post over on my blog with some of my favorites. Or you can just click through to start checking out all the amazing portraits.
Omar has already joined the party (and I’ll get to your portrait soon, my friend), anyone else?

Here’s one I did of Moly_X founder, Marty Harris:

UPDATE: I did portraits of Omar and Danica for the Portrait Party too!

concept

Hi guys!
I just want to let you know, that I still have Ramires's book and finally I have time to draw. This is my first sketch for the new sketchbook. I have been thinking about the papers in Omar's post and i decided to fold them into paper cranes! ;)

And this is the result ;) I'm not happy with my expression, but I like it in general :)

Heidi's book

How Tim said here, I like to do small paintings in Moly_X books, but this is a very interesting book with beautiful drawings and I did preferred to keep this line also making a drawing using only my mechanical pencil with 2b. It is a pure draw, without sfumattos or effects, I did only what the graphite can do toutching the paper. Heidi, I hope you enjoy. Sorry for my late.

arrived in Abu Dhabi

hello everybody!

It is almost a week I´m here. it is a diferent place and I stil have to adjust myself. Th only bad news is that Flickr is blocked in UAE so if you were wondering why I wasn´t posting anything in Flickr that is the reason.
That means that I have two problems regarding moly exchange..
1.-I can respond any flickr mail (but I can read if u write me)
2.-I can see any pictures you have there for the portraits.

that is not something that can't be solve but I think u should be aware of it. I´m trying in the meantime to download some add ons for mozilla firefox to avoid the censorship of the site. but I still haven´t find anything. If someone can write to flickr and ask if the know a solution would be very gratefull.

I keep following the news from our blog.Have a nice day everybody!

Dana's moly - finished?

So, I threw some ink at Dana's book tonight and am reasonably happy with it.

I dig how we look like some kind of oddball buddy team like Mulder and Scully or something.

However, I'm debating whether to add anything into the background. I was thinking of continuing the background color she used in her opening portrait somehow. I made a couple quick mockups in photoshop and would love to hear your thoughts:

I like this last one but I'm not sure if I could pull it off in the book without trashing the sketch. I'll probably just leave it alone...unless you all talk me into it!

Tim's book

So, I joined this group way back in October 2008, didn't contribute anything until March 2009 and never started my own book at all! I've had this moly since around that time and even had a rough sketch in it for at least a year. But for whatever reason I never got around to completing it. Ever since we got this group re-booted in January though I've wanted to give it another shot and finally pushed myself to do it this week.

I was inspired by Ramires' awesome paintings for some of the other moly_x groups to try this little painting. It's the first time I've used acrylics in one of these books and I'm pretty happy with the results. As you may or may not know I'm big-time skier...I raced in high-school and college and have been instructing and coaching for over 15 years so this portrait is me in my element.

I'm going to finish up Dana's moly this week and send both of these off to Ramires soon. Hope you're ready for 'em, Claudio!

Ramires Moly on his way to Danica

I sent today Ramires Moly to Danica. As I wrote before I 'm going to be in Abu Dhabi till the 29 of July. I will write my address as soon as I'm there.(next sunday)
